ASHLAND -- A fire in an outdoor light fixture caused $10,000 worth of damage late Friday night at a Trailside Way condominium, firefighters said.
The
fire in the light fixture spread to an exterior wall, catching the attention of
a neighbor who alerted the Fire Department, said spokesman Peter Chisholm.
"There
was some fire in the siding and then they had to do quite a bit of
overhaul," said Chisholm.
The
fire broke out at about 10:45 p.m. Firefighters cleared the area at midnight
after checking the area with a thermal imaging camera.
The
residents of 260 Trailside Way were not home at the time of the blaze. Fire Lt.
Keith Robie said damage from the fire wouldn't force the family from their home.
"There wasn't a lot of smoke damage to the inside," he said.
