Camp Bailout

CAMP BAILOUT!

Presented by:
Fire Service Women of Metro West

CAMP BAILOUT! was designed by Lieutenant Lyn Moraghan, a 16 year veteran of the Ashland Fire Department. The mission statement of CAMP BAILOUT! Is to encourage and promote the advancement of education, professionalism, and leadership skills to young women interested in the Fire and Emergency Services, on a career or volunteer level. The program is designed to provide a safe, dynamic, interactive, and physically challenging environment to gain strength and knowledge- while building confidence and leadership skills.

Interested campers must complete an application and mail it to the address listed on the application by June 1st 2011. Sixteen females will be selected from the applications, and will be required to complete medical and operational waivers.

The camp will start on the first week of August, will run for five days, and will include a graduation ceremony on the last day. Our professional staff will include a combination of career and volunteer male and female firefighters from the surrounding communities. The sixteen campers will be split into four teams with each team having a professional team leader. The ratio of camper to instructor will be 2:1, not including a guest instructor or camp coordinator. The location of CAMP BAILOUT! will be 70 Cedar Street, Ashland Fire Department Station #2.

Camp Bailout! will start at 8:30am and finish promptly at 4:00pm EVERYDAY Monday through Friday.

All campers must plan to attend each day to successfully complete the program, and to graduate—so please plan accordingly, and understand that if there is a “known” conflict of interest that cannot be changed, please do not apply for the camp, and allow someone else the opportunity to attend that can make this commitment!
