SPECIAL OPERATIONS UNIT
Rescue-1 a 1997 Freightliner FL70 Walk-through Rescue manufactured by Amtech Emergency Products is equipped with a Cummins C8.3-300 turbo-diesel 6-cylinder engine, producing 300 horsepower and 716 lb/ft of torque (Peak is 820 lb/ft) @ 2220 rpm. The transmission is a Allison MD3060P six-speed auto and uses a similar chassis as Engine-3 and Engine-1. Rescue-1 contains a PTO driven Winco 25KW generator, Will-Burt "Night-Scan" NS 15-6000 telescoping light tower w/ (4) 1500 watt quartz lights w/ pan and tilt joystick control w/ 30 ft of cable. (2) Extend-a-Lite 1500 watt portable tripod quartz flood lights mounted rear of unit, one on each side. Air Cascade system (3 DOT type cascade breathing air storage bottles, air control panel), Robinson roll-up doors on on all compartments, low-pressure rescue/confined space air-bags and tanks, Hannay electric cord reels, 200'(2 each), Hannay air hose, 100'. Amkus Hydraulic rescue tools, spreaders and cutters, w/ accompanying Honda power unit and two Hannay hydraulic lines mounted in reels. Arson investigation equipment, various tools, high angle and confined space rescue equipment, EMS equipment, Scott 4.5 air packs (several), acetylene tools/cutters, cribbing, air tools and other miscellaneous equipment. Full Command Center in walk-through compartment w/ computer, fax, cellular/data lines, weather station, accountability chart, scene horizontal situation display, (4) Motorola Spectra radios to allow transmission and receive capability on all public safety frequencies/radio bands.
