ENGINE 1
Engine-1 a 1997 Freightliner FL70 manufactured by Luverne Fire Apparatus Co. is equipped with a Cummins C8.3-300 turbo-diesel 6-cylinder engine, producing 300 horsepower and 716 lb/ft of torque (Peak is 820 lb/ft) @ 2220 rpm. The transmission is a Allison MD3060P six-speed auto. The pump is Hale QSMG125-23L single stage, rated at 1250 gpm peak capacity( @ 150 psi and 1470 rpm). This engine was certified by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. on June 26, 1997 and complies with NFPA section 91 of NFPA standard 1901, "Pumper Fire Apparatus". Engine-1 is a sister ship to Engine-3, which has the same components and general layout despite a different chassis size.
Engine-1 contains 750 gallons of water, 1000' of 4" supply line, 2 pre-connect 1 3/4" attack lines (One each drivers and officers side), 200' of 2in attack line (rear), 200' of 1 3/4" pre-connect attack line, 100' 1 3/4 dead (rear) and hard suction. Engine-1 also contains the usual assortment of engine equipment including: roof ladder (12'), ground ladder (24'), pencil ladder, removable deck gun, tools (pike poles, rakes, etc), PPV, fire extinguishers, air packs (Scott 4.5s), EMS equipment, 2 500W quartz extendable scene lights, a generator and other assorted equipment.
