The Massachusetts Southern Fire District 14 Dive team was activated for an incident at the Ashland State Park on Spring St. A passing jogger noticed female clothes near a hole in the ice at the Spring St bridge. The duty crew was dispatched with Car-2, A-1 and Engine-4 with the rescue sled. Upon investigation it was determined there was enough cause to activate the dive team to search the area.

 

Captain Brogan assumes command of the incident and requests the MSFD-14 Dive team

 

Firefighter Brogan made the initial entry and recovered the clothing which was collected as evidence by the Ashland Police Detective Unit

 

Dive team resources begin to arrive and set up their equipment.

 

Divers had difficulty accessing the area in question due to the ice

A backup diver stands by in case the primary diver gets in trouble.

Firefighters clear ice in the area to be searched.

At the conclusion of the incident, nothing was found and the investigation turned over to A.P.D.
