While in Manhattan, the Ashland Firefighters visited the house of Engine-54 and Ladder 4. This firehouse suffered the staggering loss of 11 members on September 11.

The riding list of September 11 is forever preserved in the station.

The trip to New York city was a sobering reminder to the Ashland firefighters to how dangerous the job can be.
